Getting Organized - Planner Style

Are you trying to gain a sense of organization in your life?  Maybe you keep forgetting appointments or to-do list items.  Using a paper planner may be the answer!  Today I will help get you started with a few basic items. You can either decide to keep it simple or the sky is the limit to how much you can decorate and embellish your planner.

Supply List

Mildliner Markers – I use part of my page each week as a to-do list. Once I complete a task I like to use the mildliners to cross the items off my list. The mildliners each have two tips.

Planner – There are a lot of awesome planners on the market. You will want to shop around to find the perfect one for you. I’ve used everything from a cheap agenda from Target, Erin Condren Life Planner and Happy Planner (vertical and dashboard layouts).

A few things to consider when deciding which one will work best for you; Do you want to be able to add/remove pages, what layout (vertical, horizontal, dashboard, hourly). Most importantly consider your budget!

Pens – Flair pens, fine point sharpie pens and TUL are my favorite for writing. I have found that they do not bleed through on the Happy Planner or Erin Condren planners.

Pen Organization
Stickers – I remember collecting stickers as a little girl; I get the same excitement today when I find the perfect sticker for my planner layouts. Happy Planner has a variety of sticker books for all occasions. The retail price of $19.99 is a little steep for me but you can often find them on sale or use a coupon. With planning being so popular there are lots of planner stickers on the market including a lot of Etsy shops! You can even get creative and start making your own!

Storage Ideas

At first you might be able to store your supplies in a pencil pouch or desk drawer. I would venture to guess that if you continue your supplies will multiply and you will be looking for other ways to store them.

I am blessed to have a craft room in our current house so I have the space to spread out my supplies. For the most part my supplies are on shelves so I have come up with a functional option that also looks nice.

The More the Merrier

Some of you may have multiple planners (please let me know how you keep up). I’ve enjoyed being part of a bunch of different groups on Facebook and following some fun planner accounts on Instagram.
